A satire on war and the ironical ‘oneness of purpose’ in military profession
We are brothers in arms,
We’ve sworn to die
For our nation’s flag
To pay the supreme sacrifice
In defense of her territorial dignity
***
We are brothers in arms,
We pursue one cause-
Of defense of our motherland
Yet on the battlefield of nations’ interests
We shoot ourselves for glory and honour
***
We are brothers in jungle,
We sleep in the woods in our missions
Yet, to ourselves,
we’ve become prey for hunting,
Watching out for our brothers to kill
***
We are brothers in arms
Yet, we are always at war,
Dying by each other’s bullet
Oh! In vain we share our brotherhood
Even when we are one in profession
***
We are brothers in arms,
With military salutes,
We measure our superiority
Yet in killing ourselves,
We sacrifice love of oneness
***
We are brothers in arms,
Bound by oath of brotherhood
Yet our brothers’ asses we kick
Their backs we stab,
Failing in our great duty
Of being our brothers in arms’ keeper
***
We are brothers in arms,
We are comrades for peace
We pay no allegiance to our safety
But loyalty to our nation’s flag,
Dying for each other, our oath it should be
