My Stake

(In survival for new choice and culture)

As slack old tree rots

Strong-keen hand clutches new branch

To strive for high stakes.

Like a hunter’s aim for prey

My life’s bow is choky-free

  1. Your meticulous diction, compelling metaphors of theme of survival’s choice and clutch of new culture captivates my interest in your piece. You do have the masterly ability to paint reality and societal situations with poetic pen. I enjoyed your Tanka poem Henry!

  3. I had to look up choky-free. So then with the definition garnered I believe I can compliment you on both being free of things that could choke you and being able to reach new heights by aiding others. With compassion for striving to do the best even within the limits of human age.

My muse tends to ramble. Thank you for your visit to my post on the prompt. 🙂
